edward kwan was founded in 2013 by zara lim.
edward kwan is named after my grandfather, who at 85 years old, still works full time as a master tailor at the shangri-la hotel singapore and has made suits for bill clinton, george bush senior and the first president of singapore, yusof ishak.
the original tailoring business was passed down from my great grandfather.
in 2016 i launched gracie kwan, aptly named after my grandmother, who still works alongside my grandfather doing the bookkeeping for the tailoring business.
all ties, bow ties, pocket squares and hair bows are handmade in melbourne australia either by myself or by my father whom i taught to sew from scratch. all suits are tailored by mr edward kwan in Singapore.
