I recently completed a hand painted wedding bow tie and pocket square order for my customer, Blake, whose fiancée found Edward Kwan on Instagram. Blake liked the Simon hand painted bow tie but wanted a colour scheme that matched the maid of honour's dress, designed by Melbourne label Kuwaii. I really enjoyed working on this order and was super happy with the end result!
I started off the usual way by doing a number of designs in my sketch book for Blake to choose from. I experimented with 2 different shades of pink, 3 different shades of blue and 2 different shades of red. The palette we ended up going with matched the maid of honour's dress almost perfectly. I could tell the bow ties were going to look awesome while I was painting them, but you never know until you completely finish them and tie them up. Luckily, my prediction came true:
We finished off the order with a matching burgandy pocket square for the groom, and matching light pink pocket squares for the groomsmen. I can't wait to see photos of the lads in their bow ties and pocket squares on the big day!
