I always love doing custom hand painted bow tie orders and this one was no exception. My customer, Liz, sent me a photo of her husband-to-be's feather bow tie that he would be wearing at their wedding and asked me to come up with a bow tie design for her two nephews.
Pictured above is Liz's fiance's bow tie from Brackish, which features real turkey and peacock feathers. She also thought I could throw in a bit of peach colour to match the bridesmaid's dress but was happy for me to experiment and see what I thought would work well. I came up with a couple of designs, but we were all happiest with this design below.
I matched the blue and the dark green and threw in a bit of peach as requested, however I always think hot pink looks good with dark green so I decided to throw a bit of hot pink in as well. I wanted to design something that had a bit of a feathery and floral feel to it, without being too obviously feathery or floral. While a design might look good on paper, you never know exactly how it is going to turn out once it is made into a bow tie. But I was pretty happy with how these hand painted toddler bow ties turned out!
