Flower power

My latest hand painted order would definitely have to be my new favourite! I love the different shades of pink and the way they contrast with the green petals. But also I kind of surprised myself because I have no idea how to paint or anything about painting technique. So when my customer asked me to add a little more detail to the flowers, I at first doubted whether I knew how to do what my customer wanted. But I was quite impressed with the end product!

My customer's request was for rich autumn colours with deep pinks and she sent me a photo of the bouquet as well as a floral bow tie that she liked the general look of. I came up with these initial designs:

It was basically the one design but with a number of different variations as you can see above. My customer and her partner liked the above design, but asked me to refine/detail the flowers a bit more. So I came up with a new and improved version:

We were both super happy with this final design! Next it was on to painting the actual bow ties:

Since today was a public holiday and I had the day off work, I managed to finish all four bow ties. It was pretty tiring!! But the end result was worth it:
